Renovation in Israel | Backsplash materials available in Israel
In this video, we will have a look at backsplash materials.
In Hebrew, the backsplash is hipui kir mitbah.
There are many choices of backsplash materials available on the market in Israel. What you choose depends on your budget requirements, aesthetics, and style.
We will see the most commonly used materials in Israel:
Ceramic or Porcelain tiles are very easy to clean and virtually maintenance free. Porcelain tile is the most common material used in the backsplash. There is a wide choice of models, shapes, colors, and textures, and it is not expensive.
Glass tiles: Glass has become a very popular choice as well. There are many styles, colors, shapes, and sizes to choose from. Glass is easy to clean. Glass tile is available in a mosaic form as well as larger shapes.
It is also possible to install a full glass slab, which will be free of grout lines and easier to maintain. The beauty of a glass backsplash is that you can choose anything you want, from a custom piece of artwork to a digital image or a simple painted finish. In this kitchen, I used an off-white mat glass screen.
Mosaic Tiles
Mosaic tiles are beautiful, elegant, and shiny. With so many options available on the market, it can be difficult to choose. They are very elegant but also very expensive.
Slab backsplash: It creates an elegant and simple look with no grout lines. It is usually done with the same material used for the countertop, like marble, granite, Corian, Cesar stone, etc. Marble and granite are highly porous and require a sealant on installation.
